Born in Toronto, Canada, Mike became an athlete at an early age after achieving a scholarship for Loyola College in Maryland, USA. He then started his professional career in Europe, playing in three countries before making the move to the UK to play in the British Basketball League (BBL). Mike has been with the Sheffield Sharks since 2009 and is now club captain. This is his eighth season playing professionally.

I have been with the Sheffield Sharks since 2009 and I am now club captain. This is my eighth season playing professionally.
I used to only use Argi+ but as time went by I started to discover other great products. Now I use Argi+, Forever Lite Ultra, Forever Freedom and Forever Arctic Sea. I've even started using personal care products like the Aloe Ever-Shield Deodorant, Forever Bright Toothgel, and Gentleman's Pride aftershave.
I usually train twice a day with my team. This includes a morning session in the weight room where we focus on strength, speed conditioning and plyometric, and then an afternoon team session where we focus on cardio conditioning, installing our offensive and defensive plays, skill work and scrimmage.
I try to start with a shot of Forever Freedom – I'm used to the taste now! For breakfast I like to have something that will give me energy throughout the day, so I have porridge with Forever Bee Honey and fruit. I’ll have a light lunch as I train soon after – usually a large salad with grilled chicken or tuna – and before my workout I’ll have Argi+. Post workout I'll have a Forever Lite Ultra shake and a banana or clementine to bridge the gap between meals. For dinner it's always protein, starch and veg, usually chicken or salmon, with brown rice, couscous, sweet potato or pasta. I've been trying to stick to my dark greens so I’ll have this with broccoli, spinach or kale.
