I had been a customer of Forever since 1996 and I knew the products were amazing but I never took the business opportunity seriously at all. Due to ill health, in 2005, I had to leave my job in retail management to take long term sick leave. When I started earning a bit more money again, I decided to get back into the products and I joined the business to get a discount.
I hadn’t realised but my years of talking to friends and family about the products, without trying to sell them, meant that so many people I knew were already interested in them. Over the years, people had seen for themselves what they had done for me so I ended up making £400 profit in my first month.
After a successful three months, I won a team incentive to go to the Head Office in Warwick for a training day and lunch. I didn’t plan on going because I wasn’t doing the business, but something kept telling me I should. When I got there, I was surprised at how down-to-earth everyone was and I thought maybe if they can do it, I can do it.
I’ve been in the business eleven years next month and it has been overwhelming in so many different ways. I got to Manager position after eighteen months, I went on a trip to South Africa, I went to Stockholm – all these things happened that I never expected to happen to me. I remember going to a Managers Incentive in Telford quite a few years ago and it was an amazing party where everything was paid for. I had gone from having quite an active social life to a very limited one with my heart condition. The business really connected with me; it brought all the things that I had missed back into my life.
I run a gas metering business from home which is just a small family-run business so my wages will always be limited. When I started to take Forever seriously it paid for my holidays. I always loved going on holiday but I would have one holiday a year – normally a last minute deal to somewhere that wasn’t going to cost too much and whatever was available at the time. During my first full year after achieving Manager position, I went on holiday six times.
Joining Forever has also enabled me to buy my dream car. I didn’t know what my dream car actually was but I had seen this car around town a few times and thought, I love that car! I searched online for one for sale and found one nearby so I made an appointment to see it. At the time I was running my other business from a unit and I had been cleaning out the back office so my jeans were all dirty and the t-shirt I was wearing looked like it had seen better days. When I got to the garage and pointed out the car I wanted, the salesman didn’t take me seriously at all. I had saved most of my bonuses since joining Forever so I decided to buy it. When I went into the office to sign the paperwork, the salesman changed his tone completely. After that, every morning when I woke up, I would look out my window first thing to see my car and I’d just think, that’s mine! Moments like that remind you how amazing this business is.
The confidence Forever has given me is amazing. When I first joined, my upline would ask me to share my testimonial at the Business Presentation. I would attend these weekly and for about 3 months they asked me every time but each time I would say I couldn’t – it petrified me. One week I told myself that I had to do it otherwise they would keep asking me. From that night everything changed; I started to speak at the events regularly, then I began presenting a slot at the Business Presentation. I was even on stage at a Success Day for a Q&A session. All these things would never have happened if it wasn’t for Forever.
Since then I have joined a panto in a choir. I had always loved drama, but I could never have put myself in front of people. Forever has given me the confidence to be who I want to be and start living my life the way I want to.
People’s perception is that working Forever needs to be two hours here, two hours there, three hours on a Saturday afternoon, four hours on a Sunday evening - when it doesn’t. It can literally be twenty minutes here, ten minutes there, making a quick five-minute phone call. I do all my orders when I am already going somewhere; very rarely do I set aside a whole afternoon to deliver my orders because I am organised. I’ve always seen it as fitting in around what I’m already doing. Yes, I probably do work my business ten or twelve hours a week but that’s not setting aside big blocks of time, it’s fitting it into the gaps. It can be overwhelming if you look at it as a whole but when you look at it in little steps, it’s so much easier to cope with.
To anyone starting the business, I’d say don’t get overwhelmed by everything, think of it as these three steps:1. Use the products so you can speak about them from the heart.2. Look for a handful of people who you think would benefit from the products and share with them what your experience is.3. Once you have your handful of customers (if you want to) speak to a few of them who are also looking to earn a few extra pounds a month.
There are so many people out there who don’t know how nice it feels to be part of such a great community. I just want to share what we’ve got with more and more people. Forever has changed my life and I don’t think there is anything more rewarding than being able to do that for someone else.
